My client is looking for an experienced Software Engineering Manager who has at least 3-5 years solid people management experience who can manage a team of 15 + software and web developers all at varying levels of their careers. Working closely with all members of the delivery team, the Development Manager will run a team of Java and Web Developers to deliver software in accordance with the prevailing project plan, on time, to specification, and of the highest quality.
Your experience as a Software Engineering Manager will include;
* Development team management, supervision and motivation
* Accurate and timely management reporting (Development progress, quality, etc.)
* Management duties such as appraisals, authorisations, salary reviews
* Arrange training, conduct interviews and assessments
* Establishing, maintaining and applying development processes, systems and gateways
This is a hands off software engineering manager role and you will NOT be required to produce any code. You will, however, have a previous background in software development so you can understand the products the developers are working with and the mindset of a developer.
Any previous knowledge of Java, C#, Web development would be useful but as mentioned above this role will not include hands-on development so any other software development languages will be considered.
