Service Desk Technician – Global retail solutions provider

The role – IT Service Desk Technician – To provide IT support to around 1800 users and to ensure that all of the IT systems operate effectively and reliable.
·Provide 1st and 2nd line IT software and hardware support to all users on the following systems but not limited to:
oWindows Desktop Operating System XP up to and including Windows 10
oWindows Server 2003 up to and including 2012
oIn house bespoke applications
oCitrix application issues and user logon issues
oCisco Networking of port configuration and patching
·Google admin support
oCreation and deletion of new user emails
oManaging of permissions
oCreation and administration of groups
oManage and resolve potential spam outbreaks
·Site visits to other offices in the UK and Overseas may be required.
·Responding within the agreed time limits to support requests to meet SLA
·Liaise with third party suppliers when dealing with hardware or software issues contracted out.
·Ensure end user machines are fully update by managing and administering through ncentral patch management.
·Monitor and resolve any backup related failures
·Escalate any 3rd line support issues to the relevant team
·Complete Incident reports in the event of a P1 incident
·Provide a high standard of customer service to all users.
·Cover administration tasks in the absence of the IT administrator
·Follow ITIL Guidelines under Service operations.
The ideal candidate would posses most or all of the following;
·A relevant IT degree or similar IT qualification OR 1-2 years experience in a similar Service Desk role
·Problem solving skills
·Good attention to detail
·Good Understanding of windows operating systems
·Good understanding of Microsoft office suite software
·Excellent customer service skills
·Good written and documentation skills
·Knowledge of Windows server operating systems 2003 up to 2012
·ITIL Qualification V2 or V3
·Citrix and vmware skills
·Previous experience working within an ITIL environment
