The role – An Application Support Engineer, 3rd Line Support, Pre-Sales Support, Post-Sales Support.

The Application Support Engineer is responsible for dealing with internal and external customers providing a high level of both pre & post sales consultant level of support. You will be required to interact effectively with customers on a technical and commercial level, whilst supporting them with technical issues and identifying new opportunities for future growth. Assisting with configuration and implementation of paid consultancy will form a crucial part of this role.

The Application Support Engineer will be a technical authority in the application of the company’s services, allowing the ability to support supplied solutions whilst providing an escalation path for the service desk team.

You will be required to provide customer facing training on a bespoke suite of products whilst also assisting with the development of the Technical Services Team. You will also provide input and assistance in the creation and development of the company’s products and services.

Your previous experience will include;

1 Experience developing or supporting high end Wonderware, SCADA or MES or Rockwell solutions ideally built on Wonderware products
2 An understanding of Microsoft Server OS administration and networking
3 An understanding of configuring and working in a virtualized environment, experience desirable
4 A good understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Reporting Services, experience desirable
5 A working knowledge of Microsoft integration and communication technologies e.g. web services, Microsoft Communication Foundation, Message bus. Experience developing enterprise websites desirable
6 Ability to interact effectively with customers on a technical and commercial level, and awareness of the commercial aspects of project delivery, e.g. project
7 Any experience of structured programming languages, preferably C# .NET would be an advantage but not essential.
