Junior Java Developer (Junior, Mid – Level)
Are you a Junior Java Developer / Software Developer with at least 1 years commercial java development under your belt? Would you like to work for a company who have been established for well over 150 years and have a very low turnover of staff?

You will have exposure to most or some of the following skills;
·1 years + commercial Java development experience
·A software engineering / computer science graduate (2;1 or above) OR 1-2 years commercial software development experience ideally in Java or another object orientated language such as C#.
·A solid understanding of Java development (no commercial experience needed)
·Understanding of OOD and Java design patterns.
·Experience in all phases of the software development life-cycle.
·Experience in presentations and technical writing
·Java: JDK 1.6 and above
·Understanding of Web Service standards (SOAP, XML, WSDL, UDDI)
·Hibernate and other Java persistence frameworks
·Databases: SQL Server/Oracle/PostgreSQL or similar
·Quality related skills: peer code reviews, code analysis tools, test harnesses, load testing
·Documentation skills: requirements / design documentation
·CM related skills: experience with a Version Management tool (e.g. SVN or GitHub), dependency management tools (e.g. Maven & Nexus), deployment management tools (e.g. Ant) and Issue Tracking system (e.g. Jira)
·Data skills: EDI, CSV, XSLT
·JMS Brokers (e.g. ActiveMQ)
·Data querying – XPath, XQuery, SQL or similar
