My client is the most successful company of its kind within the UK. Established for many years, they have an exceptional reputation for looking after their staff.
They are looking to fill a new vacancy within their organisation and are on the lookout for an experienced IT Vendor Manager who has a strong background in researching and selecting 3rd party off the shelf system, off the shelf system implementation and application support.
The purpose of the IT Vendor Manager role is to research and recommend appropriate off-the-shelf technical solutions for the company’s business problems, where you will also be responsible for managing all IT vendors, monitoring vendor performance, managing subscriptions and negotiating vendor agreements.
●Research 3rd party software/infrastructure/hardware solutions, according to business requirements.
●Support the Business Analysts in identifying the need for a 3rd party solution to a business problem.
●Ensure that 3rd party providers deliver in line with project requirements, within authorised budget and agreed timescales.
●Coordinate the handover of 3rd party systems (post-implementation) to the Service Desk and Application Support team, organising training where required.
●Coordinate software/infrastructure/hardware installations involving external engineers, ensuring adequate support is provided internally.
●Provide demonstrations of 3rd party solutions to stakeholders.
●Develop and maintain professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
●To undertake other duties of an appropriate nature under direction of Line Manager.
●Negotiate contracts/agreements with vendors, making any necessary amendments to meet the company requirements.
●Ensure vendors meet all agreed contractual obligations.
●Continuously review existing vendor agreements and research other options, making recommendations for change where appropriate.
●Closely liaise with internal stakeholders during tender process, including project managers, IT management, finance and risk.
As an IT Vendor Manager you will have experience in the following;
●Minimum 2 years relevant work experience in a similar Vendor management, Implementation, application support, research, vendor selection role
●Educated to degree level (high grade) or above.
●Experience managing vendors and leading negotiations.
●Experience sourcing and making recommendations on 3rd party solutions.
●Strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills.
●Very well organised.
●Strong negotiating skills.
●Excellent communications skills.
●Experience leading feasibility studies on off the shelf products.
●Experience using tools such as Jira and Google Apps.
●Spanish language skills.
